Church Safety Team Training
Start With a Free On-Site Safety Assessment
Every church wants to be welcoming. Very few feel truly prepared if something goes wrong.
The Family Defender Institute of NC (FDI) offers a free, no-obligation safety assessment for churches who want to protect their congregation without turning their sanctuary into a fortress.
This is the first step toward our six-part Church Safety Team Training program, but there is no cost and no commitment required to receive the assessment.
What the Free Assessment Includes
During your free assessment, an FDI instructor will:
Walk your sanctuary, classrooms, hallways, parking lots, and entry/exit points
Review how you currently welcome visitors, handle disruptions, and respond to medical emergencies
Identify obvious security gaps
Talk with your leadership about your church culture, concerns, and past incidents
Provide an easy-to-understand verbal briefing with practical recommendations you can start using immediately
There is no sales pressure during this visit. Our goal is to help you understand your current risk and what a structured safety team can do about it.
The Church Safety Team Training Program (Six Sessions)
If your church chooses to move forward after the assessment, FDI offers a structured six-session Church Safety Team Training program designed specifically for houses of worship.
Topics can include:
Building a Church Safety Team and clear roles
Situational awareness and recognizing early warning signs
Handling disruptive individuals safely and legally
Crowd management and safe congregation movement
Communication and simple radio procedures
Basic emergency medical response and coordination with 911
Practical scenario-based training inside your actual church layout
The program is flexible and can be customized to your church’s size, schedule, and prior experience.
Discounts and package pricing may be available for churches that complete all six sessions or host multiple teams. We can discuss details directly with your leadership after the free assessment.
Why Churches Choose FDI
